"I'm a loose cannon," growls Sage Francis, "Standing on the rooftop." From that vantage point he's got plenty of targets. And clearly he has no shortage of ammunition. On his sophomore disc and Epitaph debut 'A Healthy Distrust', the gruff underground rapper weighs in on everything from gun culture and pop culture to domestic violence and domestic policy. And if that isn't enough to hold your interest, he does it with a toungue-tripping fluidity, a raspy set of pipes, reminiscent of Buck 65 and Everlast, and a slate of beats that are as big and booming as they are uncompromising. Fire away, Francis.
