Los Angeles-based band Roll The Tanks will celebrate their debut album Broke Til Midnight by playing 4 shows on release day at various Floyd's 99 Barbershops on May 27. Roll The Tanks will kick things off 11 AM in the Floyd's Venice location and will wrap-up festivities by 6:30 PM in Burbank.
Fans and curious patrons alike are invited to catch the extravaganza because all shows are free. At each location, 99 raffle tickets will be given away and one winner will be selected for a special grand prize. In addition to prizes, there will be infectious live performances from Roll The Tanks as they play cuts off the album. Those taking photos at the event for Instagram are encouraged to tag the photos using the hashtag #Floyds99Takeover. Select photos will be chosen and reposted after the event. The full schedule complete with Floyd's locations is listed below. Broke Til Midnight is streaming online now in its entirety. Visit the AV Club to listen now.
Broke Til Midnight hits right in the gut upon first listen. A record that leaves no room for uncertainty in 13-tracks that beg listeners to hit repeat and enjoy the ride. It helps that band members Danny Carney (vocals/guitar), Aaron Stuart (guitar/ vocals), Mike Wakeman (bass/vocals), and Joe Sirois (drums) are fans of enduring songsmiths Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Pixies, and The Clash from where they draw inspiration to carry on the torch. "We're going to make records because that's what we want to do - make records," says Carney. "No clunkers, no fillers. Records where you almost die making them." Though the band didn't die while making the album, they did have to wait until 12 AM for when their paychecks cleared at the bank in order to pay their bar tabs; hence the album title Broke Til Midnight.
An unpretentious, classic rock inspired "band's band," Roll The Tanks are primed and ready to carry the torch for energetic, solid rock music. And as their name implies, they are prepared to flatten all obstacles. And if the Floyd's marathon doesn't break them, Roll The Tanks will play a record release show the following night, on May 28 at El Cid in Los Angeles.
About Floyd's 99 Barbershops
Floyd's 99, the Original Rock 'N Roll Barbershop for Men and Women®, mixes old-school customer service with the appeal of an experienced, talented staff in a fun, high-energy environment. The brainchild of brothers Paul, Rob and Bill O'Brien, the first Floyd's 99 shop opened in downtown Denver in 2001. It has since become the fastest-growing group of barbershops in the United States with 73 locations in 12 states, and nine shops in various stages of development. From humble beginnings, the brand's success is built on introducing clients to the novel idea of getting a great haircut at a reasonable price in a unique atmosphere. Floyd's 99 has been actively involved in every community where a shop has opened since the earliest days. With personal connections to Type 1 Diabetes, Floyd's 99 is a strong supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), the largest charitable funder of T1D research.
