Sparta (Anti-)

Formed after the dissolution of esteemed post-hardcore outfit At The Drive In, Sparta was the more melodic faction of the break-up (the other half turned in to the progressive metal classicists Mars Volta). Sparta hit with a terse, muscular sound that is somewhere between the bombast of U2 and the urgency of Jawbreaker and Fugazi.

Threes, featuring lead single "Taking Back Control", has been available in the US since late 2007 and it has been highly praised in the media all over the world ever since. Like previous releases, Threes is fiery and intense, but the band has expanded its brand of textural post-punk with sweeping and hypnotic melodic passages. The result is a powerful, uncompromising record unique in its vision and sound.

- Initial run will include Bonus DVD "Eme Nakia", a short movie about Sparta member Tony Hajjar's personal history growing up in Beirut, Lebanon and at the age of 5 fled the country with his family.
